This class helps young children between the ages 6 months and 3 years become comfortable in and around the water so when the time comes, they will be ready for learn-to-swim classes, which can usually start when children are 3 to 4 years old. In addition to enjoying the water with their children, parents learn about water safety and how to handle their child in and around the water. This class is not designed to teach children to become good swimmers or survive in the water on their own. Formal swim lessons should start around 3 to 4 years old.
